US policies with Hillary in 2008

I run a search for this very subject, but I found much less discussion about it than I expected. So I throw the gauntlet. By whatever divergencies available, Obama's nomination campaign in 2007-08 collapses after a point or simply never takes off. Hillary easily gets the nomination, thrashes McPain and the Wicked Witch of the North in November, and America has its first female POTUS. How would the US policies of the last three years have been different, if any ?

Good news/bad news

1st OFF the Good News:
  • Hillary has none of Obama's hesitation about using the Democratic supermajority in 2010
  • I doubt health care is quite as high on the list but might have kept a single-payer option
  • I think she'd have tackled the bankers a bit more aggressively, but YMMV.
  • IIRC there was a lot of Dem worry that Hillary might be more hard-nosed, but much less ambitious goals than Obama.

The Bad News:
  • Crazy as it sounds, Clinton got painted as the Establishment candidate uninterested in rocking any boats vs Obama.
  • The effects of this are nowhere near as much updraft/coattails for Dem reps and Senatorial candidates.
    • Long story shorter, Clinton counted on an uphill fight with a GOP unwilling to compromise. Smart analysis, but in real terms, almost the same gridlock that occurred OTL only a different focus.
