US grows during WW2

What POD would it take for the US to grow in territory in WW2? As an example the colonies of Denmark, France, Britain and the Netherlands in the new world. Greenland and the Dutch colonies during the 1940 German occupation possibly.

I would think that occupied territory would not be annexed outright until after the war.

Didn't we gain some Pacific territory at the expense of Japan?

Quite a bit, actually. Though it was offset with granting the Philippines Independence

The U.S. replaced Japan as the trustee of the Micronesian islands after WW II. In 1978, the Northern Mariana Islands became a Commonwealth of the United States, that is, sovereign U.S. territory.

Yes, after the war, Japanese possessions in the Pacific did become American. I was thinking more about European possessions in the New World.

The French made a serious offer to give America thier Pacific island colonies in exchange for what was essentially a blank check in regards to loans for military equipment (Especially aircraft) right before WW2 if the us pressed them hard enough they could probably get them to include French guiana
in the deal as well.

The British gave America a hundred year lease on a huge number of naval bases around the world in exchange for American destroyers. Maybe have Britan think that it's in even bigger trouble or include more ships and equipment and maybe you can make them permanent property of the united States or at least those in the carriben.

The US esstentaly occupied Greenland and Iceland during the war years. And thier were serious attempts by the us government to pay one or both after the war in order to better contest Russian operations in the Arctic.

If your going a more unlikely route you could have America invade a south/central American country due to either a fear real or precived that they were going to join the axis and just never leave after the war is over.

Maybe have the US annex parts of the former Japanese empire (Taiwan especially) in order to protect them from Communism.

What do you think it would take for the US to acquire the Bahamas and other smaller Caribbean islands then from Britain? More destroyers, some cruisers, possibly the Wyoming, Texas and New York? What weapons would the French take for the New World colonies?

A blank check for Britan to build escort ships in the US to be paid back in fifty years could work.

More destroyers
Well thier was about 50 more or so of the old WW1 destroyers siting around that didn't really do anything during the war.

some cruisers
They would be harder to operate then basic destroyers, but britian wanted more cruisers as fast as possible in case Japan joined the war. Honestly the biggest ship you can get past Congress.

the Wyoming, Texas and New York?
I highly doubtful that Congress would allow battleships to be leased/sold. I'm also doubtful that the British would want them with them be so old and the KGV becoming commissioned at the time

Aircraft. The French were good in terms of equipment for everything but aircraft and in particular bombers. Which is why they were trying to trade some of thier colonies for the funding to buy Aircraft in America.

UK to fall or make peace with Nazi Germany. Then the plan was to take over the European colonies in the Western Hemisphere. They probably would have a status near the current status of the Marshall Islands.
