US Elections If Every State Used The Maine/Nebraska System

PS, does anyone have any data on how many people voted for the politicians in the House of Representatives, by party? It's not exactly fair to use the presidential votes in a state to measure how accurate the elections for the House are. They're two different elections.

As per Wikipedia United States House of Representatives elections 2014

Republican Party - vote: 40,081,282 (51.2%) / seats: 247 (56.8%)

Democratic Party - vote: 35,624,357 (45.5%) / seats: 188 (43.2%)

In general, the party winning the most votes in the House elections also wins the majority of seats. However, there have been two exceptions in recent decades: 1996 and 2012. Although it can be argued "that 1996 doesn't count because it doesn't include races that concluded in September in Louisiana, which would have given Republicans a slight popular vote advantage if they were held on Election Day." http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...he-popular-vote-but-remained-in-the-minority/
