Much more industrial. Militarily speaking, not much changes, though there will be a reduction in manpower.

Agreed with the More Industrial, the West Plains would be a Settled Faster to Expand Business Sectors there and i think there would Be a Standing Army instead of disbanding it with the CSA in the South Still there

But seriously, military manpower will be significantly less, especially towards the 20th century, but of course that assumes things don't change.

Pre-civil war the US was a major maritime nation (Salem, Mass then other, bigger ports had extensive trade with China), so I think it'd develop in a more mercantile direction, particularly given possible difficulties obtaining cotton etc. from an independent south. Perhaps the flag would follow trade, leading to a significant US empire.
