Found it. Thanks for the clue.
Then I noticed it was Steampunk. ASB. Think I will pass.
So if I wrote a fantasy novel that was steampunk (think of a Great War like setting with real airships), you wouldn't want to read it?
reading this-quite enjoyable thus farI shall read this.
This is a good read and would make a great AH film.Originally Posted by Emperor Norton I

Alternate history. +1
Steampunk. -1
antigrav liftwood. -1
clockwork assassins. -1
That alone is enough to turn me off.
Having written the above, I took a look at the preview, planning to add 'bad writing' to the list of negatives.
Unfortunately for my plans, the writing is good.
Good enough for me to add the book to my 'read when you have nothing better to do' list.
The price for the tale is over seven bucks, so it will be awhile before I purchase it though.

Haven't read this new book by historian Richard Evans, but it seems v interesting. Review here:

I'm not sure that Jackson would have managed to successfully transition from a corp commander to army commander.
So why do so many people start individual threads for individual AH books when there is this thread -just wondering
Ah -the whole isn't greater than the sum of its parts syndromeJust guessing, 'cuz an entry in an existing thread isn't as impressive?

Hadn't heard of this -thank youSo Turtledove is making Joe Steele a full-length novel. I love his standalone books, regardless of their plausibility, so I'm quite excited.
