Unity of the Nile valley

I think that today the Sudanese regions would be much richer on average and Egypt would be very slightly poorer.
I'd expect Cairo would take a more hands off approach to the Christian/Animist South, and the the rest of Sudan as well, which would probably prevent a Sudanese Civil War like conflict. Certainly no Darfur conflict.
I'd be really interested in what people predict the butterflies to neighboring countries would be.
 
Also less instability on the Ethiopian and Eritrean borders , maybe without sudan interfearing the ethiopian civil war would have ended earlier.

With a stronger Nasser next door it's also possible that it would have started earlier. Alternatively, I can see a Egyptian-Somali alliance defeating Ethiopia and forcing it to give up Eritrea and the Ogaden.
