Impossible, yes.

Not to put this in easy terms, because I cannot find the countless other discussions about this, South America is too big, communications are not as developed, and the cultural and socio-historical differences between the Argentine Pampas, the Colombian Llanuras and the Peruvian mountains are so vast that they are by all degrees, unconquerable.

USA born by 12 towns near the big city of New York

13 states territory in 1810 was same size that argentina territory in same time

US of South America born in 1810 as 10 cities far away each others, separete for mountains big like himalaya, with the comunicational system of 1810...

For the existence of USSA (United States of South America) to be viable you would need to go back into colonial times and set up a far more integrated and cohesive colonial government/hierarchy, which would be able to take over as "the" metropolis once colonial ties with Spain were broken. Foeign aggression from an ultra-powerful Brazil and European powers could also aid the formation of a pan-South-American alliance whic could, in time, with charismatic leadership and a huge dollop of luck, be transformed into a loose confederation of spanish-speaking states.

At best you can have Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Southern Brazil(Argentina not loosing it) as one country and then Gran Colombia and Peru as another country.

Why this ones?

For the first communication isn't so difficult, maybe with the exception of going to Chile. The only we need is a reason for this country to stay together, like avoiding the stupid things Buenos Aires did. What I think is having an organized Revolution in 1810 in all the big cities, which can avoid Buenos Aires considering itself the heart of the Revolution. Then when war comes with Brazil, we have to avoid stupid peace deals and that should make the trick to keep half Rio Grande do Sul, and the rest of the Misiones.

For the second the difficult part is Peru, which maybe can stay with the rest of the country for fear of reinvasion. The rest of the country has somehow to avoid tensions, maybe also for the fear to the Spanish.
