Union Schlieffen Plan

okay guys. Here's an discussion one that i though of. If the Confederacy won the Civil War in lets say either 62' or 64', and allied themselves with Britian, France, and Russia. Throughout the remainder of the 19th century, the us and cs become bitter enemies. The CSA wages a war against Mexico in 1880's and accquire some of the mexican land, they also gain Cuba from Spain in the 1890's. The US accquir Alaska, go to war with Britian in the 1880's(about the same time that the CSA goes to war with Mexico),attacks Canada and wins some territory of its own, which includes Halifax, new foundland, Vancouver Island, Hawaii, and Montreal. (Okay i know some of you would say, 'the csa would declare war against the us in support of britian', but lets say that the US tells the CSA that as long as they don't interfere with their war against Canada, the US will not send aid to the Mexicans. The French, having been beaten in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870, is in no condition to support the CSA either. Also, the US has better firepower at the time, which includes the Gatling Gun and other weapons, which the CSA does not have at the time). By the 1890's the US also gains the Philippines (Spain gives it to them so that the CSA won't get it, and i don't think that the CSA would go to war over a island in the middle of the Pacific).

At the turn of the century, the CSA had allied itself to Britian, France, Russia, and Japan. They speed up weapon production and development, and increase their army and navy. The US likewise, also speeds up its weapons production and research, but it also, throught its alliance with Germany, Austro-Hungary, and Turkey, develope an staff college and officer corps. By the time of WW1, both sides are spoling for a fight. When war does breakout, the USA and the CSA go to war against one another in support of their allies. MY question is: what would a Union-style schleiffen plan look like? Would they try to knock out Canada quickly? Or would they be on the defensive in Canada and try to knock out the CSA? thoughts? Comments?

p.s.

This thread probably would go to the ones that deal after 1900, but i thought that starting it with a Confederate victory in the 1860's and the progress of both countries after the Civil War would make it before the 1900's since i started in the 1860's and not the 1900's. Anyone think otherwise? If so, i will move it. thanks, Valus36

Sounds like a Turtledove AH series. Frankly nothing you suggest will realistically come about because of the 'butterfly effect'. But I'll hazard a guess that Royal Albanian troops pin down Union forces until forced to retreat from Toledo.

Well... realistically speaking, there are only three outcomes from a Confederate victory: 1) Texas and California break away from their respective nations and the entire continent fragments, 2) The two sides arm to the teeth and engage in a contest for influence in Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, or 3) The experiences of the Civil War, some brushfire wars following, and European attempts to flout the Monroe Doctrine convince both parties that reunion must be contemplated to survive in a hostile world.

There is no case for picking one in particular over the other two, so technically what you just said is a value judgment, nothing more.
