Hello all! I'm in the need of more help in deciding where to take my timeline. I'm now at the 1884 election and I'm giving you the chance again to decide who becomes the next president of the United States!

Here's the latest update with some information on the candidates.

im going with the Republicans
the Democratic Party has all ready Caused a recession and they dont look like there going to stop

It seems to me that the chances might be very evenly split. I was kinda hoping for the populists to be on the ballot. They probably wouldnt win but something tells me they will make a strong appearance iTTL.

The Populist Party won't be founded for another two years, though I struggled to decide on this. I actually wrote a section about them but decided it would be better to add it to a later update. Anyway if they had been founded, they wouldn't have enough prominence to win the presidential election yet. I do have plans for them gaining some ground in the 1888 election though. :)

The populist party would most likely be a leach off the Republican Party because apparently the Republicans have better relations with Labor ITTL. Though they could leach off the Democrats as well in the south due to OTL Populist appeal in rural and urban areas.

I the Dems(something I've never done IOTL) because I like the gold standard.

I looked up all the candidates on Wikipedia to decide which ticket to vote for. I have to say that I wish it was more common OTL for all 4 candidates to be so highly qualified with such great statesmanship reputations!

That's one of the best parts of AH, the fact you can do that. :) Of coruse, butterflying unusual candidates OTL can be fun for some, too, though at times they're too dystopic for me. (Then again, I did like the John Wayne idea a lot.)

Haha, yeah. :D One of the fun things in AH is finding people who are fairly obscure in OTL and bringing them to political prominence.

Looks like the Republicans have it pretty much won. For some reason I feel this might make it harder for the Populist to make an large impact later on. The Reps already took their cause.

I'm planning on having the Republicans go more for the urban worker vote while the Populists get more of the agrarian worker vote.

I vote Dems for the law of unintended consequences. THe USA is more likely to make necessary reforms if people really realize how idiotic the old economic policy is.

And the Republicans are the winner! Thanks for voting everybody. The rest of the election update along with the electoral map should be up in the next couple days.
