Unified UK Constitution

Let's say sometime after the US Revolutionary War, the UK found it a good idea to have a single, unified constitutional document which would be easily referenced as containing the legal authority for the nation and empire and limits on power, rather than the dozen or so documents (Magna Carta, Bill of Rights 1689, Crown and Parliament Recognition Act 1689, etc) that are currently being used.
How would such a document be worded and constituted? Which rights would be included therein, and powers to the Parliament and Monarchy?

And if such a thing were done, what would the effects be today on the UK?

Well... Why? The Brits do very well with an unwritten constitution, and there has never been serious attempt to create a unified one, afaik.

SO.... To get that to happen, you need a major crisis where the unwritten system just doesn't work. And the form of both the crisis and its resolution will drastically effect what goes into your hypothetical written document.

In other words, what goes into that document, and the effects it has, will depend entirely on the crises that caused there to be a need for it.
