Uesugi Kagekatsu orders Toyotomi Hideyoshi's Assassination

Toyotomi Hideyoshi paid a visit to Uesugi Kagekatsu, accompanied by a few retainers. Kagekatsu called a council to discuss what was best to do under these circumstances. The majority of the councilors advised the assassination of Hideyoshi, viewing it as a simple way of ridding themselves of a dangerous enemy. However, Naoe Kanetsugu condemned the advice, citing that Hideyoshi coming unguarded was a sign of respect for Kagekatsu. What if Kagekatsu would have followed the advice of the majority of his advisors?

Basically depending on when this is, it could start a second round of conflict between the Tokugawa and Hideyoshi. Kagekatsu has assured the Uesugi's destruction unless he can the Hojo to back him up. No Hideyoshi mean no invasions of Korea, but who takes over is a whole another since this is before the Tokugawa are given Kanto, and before Japan is unified.
