Udein: The warrior's drink

Suppose coffee was 'discovered' during Roman attempts to conquer Yemen (26 BC) or thereabouts and traded on a wide scale much, much earlier, reaching India and China within a century. What (if any) butterflies might result?

I'm curious, was it viewed as a warrior's drink anywhere? It takes time and care to prepare if you don't want bean shells/husks in your drink, and is relatively difficult to grow compared to wheat/barley. It allows provides no caloric value, no energy. Weak beer (~1 to 4% alcohol) won't get you drunk, provides good caloric value, and is easy to store. The only partially difficult thing is brewing.

Udein also mixed coffee with khat but i did not think the second ingredient would translate as well. And anything that makes you that wired might, in my opinion, be associated with warriors or militaries.
