In a recent trawl of soc.history.what-if I came upon an interesting bit of information:

William Tyndale, the man who first translated the Bible into English, owned a Latin translation of the Qu'ran (the Islamic holy book) and had begun translating some of the passages. He never went further than this but imagine if he had decided to take up the task of translating two holy books into English?

What might be the effect of an English translation of the Qu'ran circulating around the British Isles from the 1520's onwards?
