Two Shiloh WIs (And some other ACW WIs)

I was reading up on Shiloh and I found two things that were coincidental:

WI the bullet that knocked Grant's hat off was placed a little lower and hit him straight in the temple? (Does Sherman take command of the east?)

What if Johnston's physician wasn't attending to the union wounded, (under protest possibly due to the Hippocratic oath), what if Johnston merely lost a leg?

Another WI from Gettysburg --

What if Hooker was still in command at Gettysburg?

Last one...

What if Lee was KIA at Chancellorsville? (Maybe have him riding in the place of Jackson)

Big trouble in some ways. And Sherman isn't senior enough (or capable enough to be promoted with dates of rank messed with the way they were if I'm not mistaken for Rosecrans).

Depends on how long it takes him to recover. He's out for the battle, so no change there.

The decision to stay and fight it out on day 1 isn't made.

Assuming the two armies meet there, which I'm not sure would be the case.

 across the CSA.

Who would succeed Grant? Buell would be my best guess for an acting general until they can find someone else to step up.

If he gets a wooden leg, I am pretty sure you do not need to walk and be active to issue orders.

Let me split the question in two then...

WI Hooker was still in command on July 1st, 1863?
WI Hooker was in command AND they somehow meet at Gettysburg (it is not butterflied away)?

If Grant dies, in the long run the CSA is likely to win a war of attrition. Unless somehow, in some way George H. Thomas winds up in charge of the overall Union war effort in which case the war ends much bloodier but with fewer overall battles.

If AS Johnston survives his golden-boy reputation doesn't.

The Union wins the Battle of Pipe Creek when Lee runs his army head-on into US firepower thinking he whipped Hooker once and he'll do it again.

Either Jackson or Longstreet take over, assuming Jackson lives instead of Lee. In that case the CSA has its best overall strategist in charge of its key strategic force, which means the Union's facing its worst-case scenario. The one hope for it is that in command of the entire ANV Jackson reverts to Cedar Mountain and Seven Days' mode. Which is admittedly possible, look at Hood the division commander v. Hood the loser of Atlanta.

ARP: Yes, but look at how for instance Ewell was out for a year after losing a leg.

Longstreet is senior to Jackson, so I'm not sure Jackson takes command (after Longstreet is back with the ANV).
