Monday Night Quarterback is a 1970-71 unsold pilot hosted by Jerry Kramer, announced by Jack Clark, produced by Bob Stewart and it was taped in either 1970 or 1971.
CBS had the condition to pick up the show on primetime. Fred Silverman and Robert Wood both picking up the show, cutting Here's Lucy to pick up the show in order to sign a security deal with Bob Stewart Productions, in order to make sure Here's Lucy became the effect on the rural purge. CBS also cut The Doris Day Show to save Family Affair from cancelling it. Silverman and Wood also cut My Three Sons and Arnie to save Leonard Freeman's Storefront Lawyers from cancellation.
CBS lend Monday Night Quarterback to make a start date of September 13, 1971, the first game show to air on CBS primetime since the cancellation of the 3 panel games in 1967, and also the first game show to air on CBS since the cancellation of To Tell the Truth in 1968.
Despite facing competition from ABC's (also NFL football related) Monday Night Football and NBC's Monday Movie block, the show was cancelled and let CBS to bring To Rome with Love back on the air.
