Trivial Pursuit is an unsold pilot produced by Jay Wolpert Productions in association with Taft Entertainment Television, based on the board game of the same name and it was taped in 1986 and 1987.
Worldvision signed many offers to stations (included was TVX's stations plus KOFY-TV in San Francisco) to pick up the show for a September 7, 1987 start date.
The show suffered from very poor Nielsen ratings as well as competition from Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! and cancelled in 1988 due to the sale of the Taft Entertainment Company to Aaron Spelling Productions, Inc.
