TVWI: CBS picked up Pandemonium in 1980

Pandemonium was a 1979 unsold pilot hosted by Steve Edwards, announced by Rod Roddy, produced by Jay Wolpert for The Bud Austin Company and it was taped between November 2, 1979 and November 3, 1979.

CBS however asked that Pandemonium is wanted to replace Monty Hall's Beat the Clock, which won on the 10:00AM timeslot over repeats of The Jeffersons. Pandemonium was due to premiere on February 4, 1980. The show however failed in the ratings against NBC's Card Sharks with Jim Perry.

In the middle of 1980, CBS wanted to cancel Pandemonium, alongside Celebrity Whew! and replacing it with reruns of The Jeffersons (which was originally a candidate to replace Beat the Clock) and Alice. The last ever episodes of both Pandemonium and Celebrity Whew! aired on May 30, 1980.
