Boggle is an unsold pilot hosted by Bill Rafferty, announced by Charlie O'Donnell, produced by Martindale/Gilden Productions and it was taped in 1988.

In 1988, Columbia Pictures Television Distribution was in negotations to sign a deal with Martindale/Gilden to distribute Boggle for a fall 1988 start. In mid-1988, Viacom bought out distribution rights to Boggle, in exchange for off-net rights to The Rookies and All in the Family. Viacom lend Boggle to sold to many stations, which included the FOX O&O's as well as WLVI, KTVU and TVX Broadcast Group.

Viacom let Boogle for a start date of September 12, 1988.
