Turkey: 2016-like coup attempt in 1997?

The main PoD is the success of 1993 WTC bombing and War on Terror strating 8 years earlier than OTL.

In this world, the US invades Sudan instead of Afghanistan due to the fact that it hosted Bin-Laden at the time.

In Turkey, the islamist Welfare party managed to emerge as the biggest party in Parlaiment after the 1995 elections ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1995_Turkish_general_election )

But IRL military forced islamist PM Erbakan to step down in a relatively peaceful way https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1997_Turkish_military_memorandum

But what if the Welfare party gained more seats in 1995 due to the 1993 American invasion of Sudan? What if Erbakan felt more confident and declined the Turkish military ultimatum?

I think that in such situation the military would have attempted a full-blown coup with the Western support. Who would have won? Erbakan or the Military? And who is more likely to win in such crisis?

I think that if Erbakan won, there is a possibility for a more radical islamization of Turkey than OTL Erdogan rule. Because AKP and Erdogan emerged as a moderate wing of ex-Welfare party members. I think that Erbakan (after purging the military of Kemalists) could have enected Sharia law and withdrew from NATO causing some major changes for the region compared to OTL. Although, Abdullah Gul was then deputy leader of the Wekfare Party and in OTL one of the founders of AKP. So, in like 2003 he could have replaced Erbakan as PM and moderate his policies to the level of OTL Erdogan.

While i think that the Military could have installed a junta akin to the one of Kenan Evren in 1980s and step down in 2007 approximately.
