I read The Motorcycle Diaries and he really seemed like someone who genuinely cared for his fellow man. Good book though.

That said, we don't know how accurate those diaries are. They would obviously have been edited to portray Che in a very positive light.
 
I think if Che Guevara's life had taken him down a different path, he could be included in that list. I think he started off very idealistic, but his actions later in life showed him to be something of a sociopath. Maybe it happens to all Communists?

Well, power does corrupt, but one of his journal entries about killing a suspected mole in Castro's army indicates trophy-taking tendencies that often come up among serial killers.
