For the sake of discussion, lets assume that the tale of Greeks building a giant horse which the Trojans brought into their city is true. That night Greek solders hiding in the horse, came out, and opened the gates letting the Greek soldiers into the City. They then burnt the City and killed or enslaved the people.
What if the Trojans had more closely inspected the horse and found the hidden soldiers. They kill the soldiers and burn the horse. Would the Greeks still lay siege to Troy or would they give up?
