Trotsky starts a revolution in Mexico

Trotsky was welcomed warmly to Mexico by president Lazaro Cardenas. Say they had worked together and established a socialist state of some sort. Would America have intervened before this happened? I'm interested in case this is too ASB.

Just saying you should check out Rast's A Shift In Priorities TL. I would post a link but I'm posting from a cell phone lol. But in it Trotsky does help start a revolution in Mexico. It is crushed by U.S. intervention though.

Most likely not. Mexico was already fairly red at the time, and had been for a few years without anyone complaining, and the Good Neighbor policy pretty much throws any possibility of US intervention out the window.
