Trotsky Given Sanctuary In The US?

AFAIK, a certain Texan Republican senator wanted him to given evidence against Stallin before house committees! But he was not permitted to enter/stay.

A 4th International?

No offers on this one. He was in Turkey for several years post internal exile and then on to Mexico, which he considered very unsafe!
Could he have denounced Stallin from The USA, could he have formed a 4th international from abroad?

Trotsky will get into the United States over J. Edgar Hoover's dead body.

The 4th International could be led from lots of places, but the United States is not one of them.

Trotsky actually did spend some time in the Bronx for those of you not in the know...

What on Earth would persuade the US government that allowing one of the most famous communists, and as time goes on an old rival of the leader of the nation with which the United States is starting to open up to, is a good idea, is quite another question.

They reversed the decision when they found out that Trotsky planned to use his testimony not just to slam Stalin, but also to grandstand for the world revolution.

It's doubtful, given his character and his status as a Soviet exile who was nonetheless committed to the basic Soviet system, that he'd play nice enough to be given refuge in the US.
