Travel Time in 1542 from Falkland to Linlithgow, Linlithgow to Stirling

Asking because I want to be accurate for a series I finally started writing - how long would it have taken a messenger from Falkland to reach Linlithgow with news of James V's death? How long would it have taken a royal party to travel from Linlithgow to Stirling for a coronation?

considering there is the forth in between
i'd say Falkland to Stirling, from there to the palace of Linlithgow 52 miles on foot according to google maps.
So around a single day for a messenger
Linlithgow to stirling is around 20 miles, so for a big party somewhat less of a day (such a big party could when speedy travel 30 miles in a day) speedy, normal speed around a day

Thank you. I thought it would probably take about a day for a messenger to ride from Falkland to Linlithgow, but was not 100% sure. As for the other question, I was asking because I had thought about setting the coronation of Henry (James V's son from his first marriage by Madeline of Valois; in my alternate history series Mary does not become Queen at six days old, she is only a Princess of Scotland as sister of the new King) on Christmas Day 1542, which was eleven days after James' death, but wasn't sure if that would be giving enough time for the travel to Stirling.
