Tragedy at the south Africa rugby World Cup 1995

during the final of the 1995 rugby World Cup a plane flew over the stadium while New Zealand and South Africa played and had a banner supporting the South African team.

Let's say for whatever reason (mechanical failure, pilot heart attack etc) instead of flying over the stadium the plane nosedives and crashes into it engulfing thousands of fans and nelson Mandela in a ball of fire

What is the effect on this Bearing in mind the pilot is white and this happens only a year after apartheid end.

It was a 747. They don't tow banners.

With more than one pilot on the flight deck (among other things), the chances of this happening accidentally are verging on ASB.

Mechanical failure wouldn't be too ASB. As for the reaction, it would be a great tragedy for South Africa, and Nelson Mandela's death would hit the country (and the world) hard.
