Take over China is borderline ASB. The differential in power was ridiculously on the side of the Chinese, as shown by the OTL's war. Even holding onto Korea, while probably possible, seems tricky in the light of how hard they tried IOTL to no avail. I would guess that the Japanese would have been able to conquer and keep Korea if China had not intervened AND they had bothered to create a decent navy. BUT the Koreans proved IOTL to be able to make the Japanese pay a very high price, which might not have been sustainable in the long term, and, exactly, what would cause Chinese neutrality? A Japanese Korea looked like an obvious source of future trouble.

My analysis of this scenario remains unchanged: while Japan during this period had the resources and technology to take over just Korea (at least in the short term, and I think probably in the long run), Hideyoshi's temperament and Sino-Korean ties means that Hideyoshi's invasions as they happened are doomed to fail.
