You really want to change college football....have the Dolphins sign Drew Brees rather than Donte Culpepper in 2005...maybe Saban would have stayed in the NFL a couple of years longer...

Cart before the horse. Saban is the reason the Dolphins didn't sign Brees. Though keeping Brees at LSU would have massive butterflies in both worlds.

Well, considering that Drew Brees was with the San Diego Chargers when he got hurt in 2004...I think what you're trying to say is that Saban staying at LSU rather than going to Miami would have caused massive butterflies...

Although last night's National Championship result has caused a bit of shakeup as well...for those who follow such things, the Paul Finebaum Show on the SEC Network (and ESPN Xtra on Sirius XM...and other places on your local radio dial, particularly in the southeastern US) will be positively epic this afternoon....BUT PAAAAWWWWWLLLLL!!!!!!! will be heard throughout the land and the tears of the Gumps will be epic!!! LOL

The signing of Brees in New Orleans happened in 2006. Saban coached the Dolphins at that time starting in 2005. So yes, Saban staying at LSU (likely by way of there being no opening in Miami) opens up huge butterflies.

I still think goes to the college ranking ranks. I think Saban best fits there and I think he knows that.

Colin Cowherd said that a big part of it is his family, though the trick is averting the Dolphins hire in the first place, and given that it happened IOTL I would need a reason to avert it. Maybe if Urban goes to ND Saban goes to Florida?
