Tory Party Leader, 1991

Say that Margaret Thatcher manages to find the extra two votes she needs to win the 1990 leadership election on the first ballot.

After narrowly surviving as Prime Minister, Margaret continues for anotehr year, although with her authroity badly shaken. She dissolves Parliament in 1991, and, as expected, loses to Neil Kinnock. Who succeeds Thatcher as party leader?

Oh my darling, oh my darling, oh my darling Heseltine,
He's a tosser and a wanker and he's just a tory swine...

Heseltine is a possibility but in all honesty, the Tory party have just gotten rid of one mad blonde, why would they want another one. Besides which, he has the stigma of "assassin".

Major and Hurd are probably the front-runners and Clarke might be a dark horse candidate at this juncture. It would depend on how the Gulf War turns out in this OTL and who gets himself/herself associated with the victory.
