Most people who have played "Axis and Allies" (1998. video game), and played it as the Germans, have probably played this as their opening:

a) Attack Egypt
b) Attack the USSR
c) Attack the Royal Navy with most (or all) your airforce

While in-game examples a and b prove as decisive victories, OTL has shown us that these battles went, well, lets just say not so good for the Germans.

But example c also goes tremendousely well most of the time, often resulting in the complete annihilation of the Home Fleet. So I was thinking of trying something like that in reality. The objective of such an attack would be to maul the RN so bad that the UK would be forced to ask for peace terms. And no, the Sea Mammal is not the ultimate goal.

Lets say the Germans thought ahead, and trained pilots in this type of warfare with the help of the Japanese, created a good Torpedo Bomber, and even came up with a decent strategy. If we ignore Goering for the sake of argument, can a Torpedo Bomber strategy damage the Royal Navy enough to force a peace treaty?

I would say no, but Im interested in what you think.
