Still, I expect at least a year to put together a mission to the Moon. Two or three years, more likely, with the condition of NASA right now. Maybe we could just launch a probe in the interim period.
EDIT: This just in! NASA just rejected the European Union's proposal for an international mission. The chief of staff reported it would take longer to collaborate than for everyone to go at it with their own funds and men. Hm. I don't know about that. It seems like the ethical thing to do would to put a crew up there representing everyone on Earth, though I know that'd be difficult.
