Just a sideproject i am working on in my freetime.
Basically it's that Sweden wins the Thirty Years War more comprehensively and Gustav II does not die. So wish me good luck!

2020 Albionic General Elections

2020 Albionic General Elections
3.png
The 2020 Albionic General Elections continued the bitter competition between the Equalizers, New Diggers and Tories about the question of becoming the ruling party within Albion.

The buildup to the election was the usual chaotic manner, with 8 Speaker Debates being held for the public. The main topic of the debates was centered around 3 topics; the Economy, the Military and the ongoing Moroccan War of Succession in which the Albionic government had till now only played a siderole. The Equalizers and Tories supported direct involvement in the Moroccan War of Succession as it seemed that Mohammad XI was going to win, and with his victory, Albion's interests in Morocco would be forever snuffed out by that of France's. The Equalizers, led by their young and charismatic new leader, Christian Wakeford, led the front in the debates and Keegan and Wakeford formed an unlikely electoral alliance with one another. The New Diggers were opposed to direct intervention and were more interested in indirect intervention as it had been going on till the elections. However as more and more Albionese died in the conflict as bystanders, the populace was starting to tire of this strategy and was turning towards a more pro-interventionist stance.

The major civilian platform for debate was the ongoing debate regarding the legalization of Homosexuality in the country. A noticeable amount of countries in the world had been slowly legalizing homosexuality since the mid 2000s, and many in the electoral populace now sought to have homosexuality legalized in the country. The Tories were the most fervent anti-legalization party. The New Diggers adopted a neutral stance regarding the topic whilst the Equalizers adopted a pro-legalization stance, fracturing the Wakeford-Keegan alliance a bit. Similarly Lucas of the Ecologist Party adopted a pro-legalization stance with the Progressive Alliance. The Patriots Party led by Sunderland adopted an anti-legalization position as well.

At the end of the polls, the Equalizers returned to power, with a 0.7% leader. Wakeford was elected to become the Speaker of the Commons whilst popular Lord of the Equalizer Party, and member of the Irish House or Lords, the Duke of Leinster was elected to become the Prime Minister of the nation.

This is the political map of the World in 2020 ittl.
The basemap is based of off @LeinadB93's Hail Britannia's map.
Independent Hyderabad? Large Ottomans in the modern day? You have my attention dear sir.
"Rule Albionica" and not just "Rule Albion"? Also one timezone even with New England? Also looking at the world map Eastern Australia and New Zealand seem to be part of Albion too (maybe Sierra Leone-Liberia too). Is the monarchy Stuart or Cromwell (which the flag and CoA seen here would indicate).

You seem to have two different flags for Albion.

Also any difference between "Riksdagian Monarchy" and "Parliamentary Monarchy"?

2018 Swedish Riksdag Elections

Swedish Riksdag Election 2018
3.png

The Swedish Riksdag Election of 2018 took place on October 2018 as King Carl XVI dissolved government as is customary every four years and called for a new government to be formed via an election.

The elections were mostly contested between the Distributor Party, Mattlig Party and Gammal Party with the most important campaign issue being regarded as the Moroccan War of Succession and the proxy conflict with France. The issue of Homosexual Suffrage was also brought to the forefront as Homosexual activists in the nation, after managing to successfully pass the 2016 Swedish Homosexual Legalization Bill, were now pushing for suffrage of all Homosexuals in the country.

Lord High Chancellor, Axel Oxenstierna III supported the ongoing policy of direct intervention in Morocco and was supported to this end by the Gammal Party. The Mattlig Party led by Gulan Avci however refused such grounds and notions and spoke in favor of either indirect intervention or retreating from the war entirely, something which would according to many jeopardize Swedish foreign policy for many years to come. The Nature Party and Alliance of Nationalists supported indirect intervention during this campaign issue.

Regarding Homosexual Suffrage, the ruling party of the Distributors sought a compromising tone and instead promised gradual suffrage rights to the Homosexual population of Sweden. The Mattlig Party espoused immediate suffrage rights for the Homosexual populace whilst the Gammal Party opposed suffrage expansion on the principle of their ideology.

The Distributor party managed to retain plurality in the Riksdag and as such, Lord Axel Oxenstierna III was once again chosen as Lord High Chancellor of Sweden by the King. The elections took place in a double voting system wherein the competing members of the Riksdag had to win two lists in their constituencies before being elected as the constituent's representative.

With the mandate of the people and the King, Lord Oxenstierna formed a new cabinet and government to lead the nation, with confidence and supply from the Alliance of Nationalities Party led by young and upcoming Finnish politician
Sanna Marin.
