"After the final croak of the machine has been heard,
When it finally rolls over, dies, and stops killing democracy,
We will all see the light at the end of the longest tunnel!"

Agnethe Davidsen (Justice) 2002-2007
Davidsen's administration is seen as the end of the machine's power over Greenland. While Heinrich's election was seen as how far the opposition would go to stop Motzfeldt, no one expected them to do as badly as they did in 2002.
To no one's surprise, the Progressive Reform Party continued the machine's power by nominating Lars E. Johansen, a Motzfeldt crony. That crony lost, badly in the first round of the recall election. The final round, between Davidsen and the People's Centere candidate Hans Enoksen. Due to Davidsen's overwhelming popularity, she won in a landslide.
The final croak of the People's Reform Party, as it had been so poetically assumed by Davidsen in 2001 came one year later. The party, knowing that it needed saving, floated the idea of the People's Reform Party merging into Justice. The idea was violently blocked by Davidsen. The party finally died in 2003, where it failed to retain a single seat.
Davidsen's administration was one of the busiest in history. She announced that she was amending the Greenland Constitution to say that you could only be president for two consecutive terms. the economy improved due to her reforms, and even though the war in Iceland continued, she was successful in many other domestic issues that it didn't matter to most of the public.
Davidsen's term ended early - to early to many. Davidsen died unexpectedly on August 4, 2007, where a day before she was campaigning for president in Ivittuut. After a constitutional crisis, Assembly leader Mimi Karlsen was chosen to replace her and won the election in 2007.
After Davidsen's death the people of Greenland found themselves in a similar situation as they had when the nation declared their independence. They were walking into an uncertain future, together as a nation.
