Who are you?

I'm Rpryor03. Thought that should be obvious by the username, pal.

No, WHO are you?

Oh, I'm just that one guy who never finishes anything.

And this will be different because...

Because I had a great flash of inspiration!

Oh...kay. So, what's this about?

You know, the United Kingdom. And we'll be looking at this United Kingdom through a BBC Election Night programme. In 2020.

And this isn't in future history because...

You'll see. The PoD is before 2000, and the Britain of 2020 looks radically different to the Britain we all know and love.

And how?

Spoilers.

Anything else?

Anything?

OK, just roll the tape.

9:49pm BST, BBC Broadcasting House

Huw Edwards put his tie on using the behind camera mirrors. A few facial stretches, and he was ready to go. In his mind, he chanted “The first part’s the hardest. Get it done, and we can get to the fun stuff.” He looked at his crew, Louise at the sideboard, Gloria with the green screen, Allegra to his left, Kamal to his right. As the clock hit 9:50, the cameras turned on, and he began his spiel.

“Good evening and welcome to the BBC’s Coverage of the UK General Election of 2020. Tonight, in our first election under AMS, Britain has voted whether to send Prime Minister Eric Pickles and Opposition Leader Andrew Adonis into Number 10 for a new Parliament. But due to the vagaries of AMS, who will they need to convince to join them in Government? Civic Will-Green Party, Liberal Reform, or Britain First? We’ll see the exit poll in a few minutes. I’m Huw Edwards, and you’re watching BBC Election Night.”
