TL Requests

Hey AltHistorians,

I was thinking it would be good to have a thread where people request TLs (for people who aren't knowledgable enough/are too lazy to write it themselves).

So, either:

-Request an outcome of a TL (i.e. Fascist America conquers Canada)
-Request a concept (Nazis assassinate Churchill during Battle of Britain)
-Request a PoD (Communist coup overthrows Nazis in 1933)

So, go onwards and request! :p

How about this for a PoD: Admiral Makarov isn't killed and his flagship isn't sunk by a mine in the Russo-Japanese war.

I never have the time for research for a proper TL

But some after- 1900 ones are:

1. Proto-fascist general takes control of France because of the Dreyfuss Affair. Decides not to activate Dual Entente, if Germany also sits out (like the Russo-Japanese War). German military "volunteers" help Austria, but Conrad stills screws up. Russia makes gains, but is pushed back.

Peace at least by 1916 as Franz Joseph dies. Concurently, 1914 Irish uprisings, found to have been armed by Germany, leads evil French general to send German arms to Libya, causing uprisings.

1916/1917, Germany (if SPD I think??? has not reined in the military) is facing a bloody but mad Russia (who could have "won" if France entered or Germany stayed out), angry UK, and Italy wondering where the rebels got those Krupp weapons.... Perfect time for a WW1!!!

2. France remains divided by the Dreyfuss Affair, like late 1930's... what happens when the Germans arrive? "Better Kaiser than Dreyfuss?" (Doesn't have the same ring...

3. Might have to be in ASB since requires Goering to allow carriers, and a Prussian to defect, but Germany has 2 Bismarck/1939H-class and 2 "Lexington" class carriers working up at least by Sep 1939.
Admiral P, worried that this Bavarian corporal will lead to ruin against the West (has no problem with Polish invasion ) decides to defect by March 1940, sure Hitler will fail. Then May starts .

What do the British do with this new fleet? (I vote claim full of dark Nazi wizardry, but the British will sell to America at a loss really, considdering how good these ships are; also, thought might have Jews crew the boats. They need some good news, and probably the only skilled workers no one will poach. Just tell Hitler the grease is made from pigs and shell fish).

4. Get those CF (those ugly flight cruisers of the USN 1930's design) built 1930/1931. Would get people thinking about angled decks... but I bet would have to lose a turret or two. When found to be useless, don't scrap! Just give to the USMC. Wonder what they would do with it.

5. Red Wolf- the daring 1930's story of a German middle class officer, who saw how nationaism destroyed his counrty, capitalism his family's wealth, democracy a whole generation... turns to communism. Think Cardinal in the Kremlin. Hey, if he can do hour by hour reports by May, 1941...

Forgot one

Mass drivers or Orion Project... because if we are the only things in space, lets loot like its 1099!!!! Figure surface mining on Mars, Moon, and Mercury, and intense internet debates on how to terraform Venus. Still in our Solar System, but ready for a generational ship to sail to a close star.

Not exactly what the OP says, but I'd like a list of (existing) TLs where someone other than Chamberlain is ruling the UK in the late 1930s, with a 1920s POD as the earliest.

How about a PoD where both Hitler and Goering get killed during WWI but Manfred von Richthofen survives? He then becomes the leader of the DVNP (the non-Nazi, but far right German party) and launches his own vision of a German state that wants to pay back the British and French for defeating them.

I'm still not knowledgeable on this topic, but I was going to make a TL on a surviving Royal Yugoslavia that became a pro-German state with General Simovic's coup failing,

Well, the DVNP would probably be a typical German regime. In fact, I see it as being quite Bismarckian: Conservative, concerned with the preservation of European stability (although probably still some pan-Germanism: Osterreich, Sudetenland, maybe Schweiz), allying itself with South-East European states, especially Yugoslavia, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary. Poland will likely be backed by Germany, despite some German irridentism, due to the threat of the Soviet Union.

As far as a failure of the Yugoslav coup, are you looking for Royal Yugoslavia to intervene in Greece/Albania, to send troops to Soviet Union? Or is it more for the sake of exploring what would happen after an Axis victory? Because after a defeat of the USSR, there'll be issues with Italy, Hungary and Bulgaria (Bulgaria claims OTL FYROM, Hungary claims at least Vojvodina, if not Croatia, Italy claims Dalmatia, Montenegro and Slovenian Littoral.

Anglo-Japanese War 1939.

the Tientsin Inciden blows up into a full scale war between the Uk/France v Japan.

I have a rough idea for late WWI like this.
Central Powers: Germany, AH, Ottoman, Japan, Italy??
vs
Entente: UK, France, Russia, USA

That results in CP victory and leads to WWII with
The Allied: German Empire, UK, USA, Japan, Ottoman
vs
Comintern: USSR, France, China, North Korea and someone big enough in South America

Do you think it's plausible and interesting?

I'd like to see a few that focus on either Africa or South America, seems like those two are really the forgotten continents on here on AH.com.

Aside from that I'm always partial to well written timelines featuring balkanized versions of the large nations of our time eg. China, The US and Russia (with a particular preference for China).

Edit Grr. forgot the most important word of the sentence.

how many South Americans are there on the board ? English is not widely spoken in S America - English language boards are by their nature going to be anglosphere heavy with variable input from Europe and s or SE Asia because of the penetration of English as a Lingua franca ( note the irony )

Irrevocable Determination uses a 1931 PoD to get rid of Chamberlain a lot quicker than OTL. He's not succeeded by Churchill, either.

I'm looking more at a Royal Yugoslavia that would send troops to the USSR and take Salonika. Moreover, I want to know what happens to Royal Yugoslavia after an Axis victory if the Germans never invaded.
