Please, please can't you let me have an independent Ethiopia? Please? You can take the Ogaden away! Please?

Well you have come to the right place. As the TL ends up as something of an Ethiopia Wank :) (There's Nukes Involved ;)). But for now, we must remember that this is very early in the TL and there is much more to come.

Are you going to post that link, or keep teasing us? :p

The TL for know is still very much in the Works and in the Developmental Stage. However, i am plannig to soon relase (next week or so maybe) a preview that iencapsulates the POD and the rise of the Cha... wait, don't want to give to much away :D.

I see that no one's mentioned William Gibson's short story The Gernsback Continium, in which a professional photographer, starts to halluinciate about a "Stremeline Moderne" world, while doing a photographic commission for a book dealing with said world, or the 1936 Alexander Korda Film adaptation of H.G Welles "The Shape of Things to Come" as reference material...
As for Flying boats, the Saunder-Roe Saro Princess from the 1950's, you could argue, was metaphorically the "last gasp" for Airliner style flying boats...

I liked "The Gernsback Continuum" when I read it some years ago. For those who do not know it yet, there seem to be quite a number of online texts:

This page is a bit cluttered, but as far as I know, shows the same text:

I wonder if anyone has put up the low budget student film version of The Gernsback Contimuum, (When Tomorrow Comes...?)
that formed part of a double bill, when Johnny Memonic was cinematically released in the U.K during the 1990's, on YouTube...?
Reportedly, unlike the other movie, it made a profit...
(The film featured Toyah Wilcox as Dialta Downes, & Don Henderson as Merv Kuhn, as part of a subtle in joke concerning a earlier role of his, was shown in a room full of Star Wars merchandise, though I can't remember who played the Photographer... ).

The Talespin cartoon from the early 90s was essentially a deco-punk.

Definitely. Good original stuff there, even for another Great Rat Recycler Tour cartoon! :D

And while officially historical fiction, Tales from the Gold Monkey could count. Call it AH and you can handwave the fictional atoll and how the main character was a Flying Tiger in the 30's. ;)

Edit: Feck Yea! The DVD's are finally coming out! :D :D :D

Also, check out the Stile Littorio Architecture of Fascist Italy: Deco meets Futurismo. Still some examples left in Eritrea:
