Titanic's Future Role if not sunk?

If Titanic hadn't sunk in 1912, would she have been converted to a troopship in WWI? How long could she have lasted interwar. Presumably she'd be scrapped or laid up before WWII breaks out?

I think it would have a similar history of it's sister Olympic and as you said used for troop transport in WW1 and scrapped in the 1930's.

Yeah, the British might turn it into a troop transport, to bring in soldiers from across the Empire. As for after the war; what happened to the other ships of Titanic's class?

Let's see. Olympic was scrapped in 1935, Titanic struck that 'burg and Britannic was sunk by a German mine in 1916.

Brittanic was sunk by a mine in 1916 (her engineers' fault, not the crew's) and Olympic was scrapped in 1936.
Actually it was the nurses on board fault. Britannic probley could have survived the explosion if they had not opened the lower portholes before she hit the mine. Same thing happened the Empress of Ireland in 1914.

The Brittanic was actually requisitioned as a Hospital ship for the Gallipoli campaign. Her sinking was never definitely confirmed as a mine as there is good circumstantial evidence that it was an Austrian submarine (yeah, sounds funny, doesn't it? But in WW1 Austria had a navy). The evidence for that comes from a report by an Austrian civilian who was repatriated from Egypt on the Brittanic and had reported that the ship had carried regular (i.e. not-sick or wounded) troops and was therefore a legitimate war target.
The wreck has been investigated several times and the story is still open.
Come 1917, I am sure that the Titanic would have been presse into transatlantic troops-ship service.

Nah, a 2004 exprdition found the minefield, and the only known sub in the area was a German minelaying sub.

Wow creepy I was thinking about WIs related to the Titanic just the other day. So the fate of the ship itself is probably pretty easy to guess, but what about the effects of the Titanic not hitting the ice berg on April 14 and arriving early in New York? Would white star possibly build more titanic class ships? What about the Ice patrol system that came about after the titanic. And what about lifeboat regulations? Would some other disaster akin to the OTL titanic sinking occur that would cause a change in lifeboat regulations and other maritime safety rules?

It's by no means guaranteed the Titanic would have become a troopship. The White Star Line was part of J.P. Morgan's International Mercantile Marine, and could have ended up in a similar role to that of the Lusitania, continuing the transatlantic service (and shipping armaments to the Allies, since J.P. Morgan was one of the Allies' biggest supporters stateside). In fact, I recall reading about a work of AH where the sinking of the Titanic by a U-boat in 1914 is what draws the US into WWI.

Yes those were the questions I was wondering about. No new regs could mean less lifeboats and other safety features, and more troops deaths in 1914 when troopships get torpedoed... until an Admiralty Board of Enquiry forces through reforms etc
