Timurlame destroys the Ottomans?

Exactly. An earlier fall of the Ottomans and its effect on the world.

The Byzantines have a slim chance to recover some of their lost strength, though I'm not sure. Total collapse of the Ottomans would require including their foothold (Gallipoli) in Europe.

Someone will pick up the pieces in Anatolia eventually, which probably won't be good for whatever lingering Byzantine state might happen.

From there...who knows.

If the Ottoman dynasty goe extinct due to them being killed during the Timurid invasion, then we would have a good chance for a Karamanid wank. But would the Karamanids be able to expand to the Balkans, or just in Anatolia?

I'm not exactly sure how many of Bayezid's sons were with him but when the Ottomans were defeated by Timur, a fleet of Venetian and Genovese ships transported the remnants of the army across to their lands in the Balkans. I suppose Timur can go and wipe out the army before they have the chance of being shipped across but you still leave the Ottomans with a good chunk of Roumelia. I'm not sure what else to say here.
