TIMELINE CONTEST: Sign-up & Planning Thread

Well, it is for me-in Australian time, it's the 15th, which is the due date for the teaser. I'll just spend today collating our stuff...

EDIT: Actually, we'll post our teaser once Fenwick comes online, just so we can do some last-minute planning.

Well by my time zone, April 15th is over, and there might be a few more teasers to be posted, but I have to say I've enjoyed reading all your work so far. It's really interesting to see how we thought some of the same things... And went in totally different directions with others.

In some ways, I can't wait till May 15th. Of course then I boot up my own .doc file and wish I had more time.

Hmmm... SATs/APs or AH...? :p

Question:

Are there any objections if I revamp the style of my timeline? I'm not going to change a thing I've posted so far, but I want to write it in more of a narrative style like I've been doing with WW; what I've got posted for the teaser here looks a little... sparse.

I wanted to do the same thing, but so much work got in the way. I'm going for a much looser style.

I was going to write a short story for every year, but realised it was, well, stupid. So I was left with nothing but this. I think it might shape up OK.

I'm surprised how many people picked Warren for President.

I think Warren's my least surprising President. (Well apart from the one chap who ends up as President in mine when he's President in OTL)

I was surprised by how many of us killed off Stalin early.

The format I was using was just too difficult for me. So I've changed the format quite a bit and rewrote the first part.

I'm 98% done. :)

And I though it was about time this thread got a bump.

Timelines are due on May 15!

Here's what you are to do when the time comes to post your work on May 15th.

Post a new thread in Discussion After 1900 that has the title begin like this TLC1: Followed by the title of your timeline.

TLC1 of course stands for Timeline Contest One.

I will create a directory thread for people to read all the timelines from, and in addition to access the polls for voting on the threads. I will post the polls a bit later than the actual timelines, to give people some time to read and to make certain we catch the straggler contestants.

The obvious categories for awards are:

Best Overall
Most Original
Most Realistic
Most Outrageous

Might also want one for Most Detailed?
