I began work on a scifi/ASB story (but that's not really relevant, so I am placing this here)

The main questions are

- How did the Romans label years/time? I am aware that they eventually came to label years after the legendary founding of Rome, but at the same time that for most of the time they simply said "in the year of consulship of Biggus Dickus" so when did the change occur?

- How did the Corinthians label time? Had this changed by the time that they were the foremost rival to Rome? If they were still using a native system that had no absolute term of reference, where would a term of reference have come? Could they, in expanding hypothetically, have found a system they could adopt in the other Hellenic lands to the East, or in Parthia?

- How did Carthage label time? Again, was there a sense of the absolute or was it all still relative to rulers or priests? Did they have a sense of counting on from the foundation (real or legendary) of the city? If they later came to dominate Egypt, was there an Egyptian system they could have adopted/altered and used?

Thanks!
