(OOC: This is kind of a different deal, which involved equal parts roleplay and joint history creation. Basically, the concept is a cross-"dimension" traveler lands in the world shown in the map bellow. The difference with this (and the reason I didn't put it in ASB; well, I also want some good input) is that the focus isn't necessarily on the travel or traveler, but the world itself. You can add and/or play anybody you want to, at any place in this universe.)

Winds unknown to the dry Brazos prairie before blew up a cloud of sand, momentarily clowding the figure who stood in its midst. When it cleared he shook himself, patting his sleeves and pants. The sky was a clear blue with the sun smack dab in the middle.

James Deonte cupped his hand over his eyes to shield them while he looked around. No one was in sight, minus a few slowly circling vultures. That was good. 'Maybe this will be a tad easier than last time,' he thought to himself. Even though as yet he didn't know the customs of the land, few could pick him out as somehow different. He was tall, looking like a farm-hand more than anything else with the calluses to prove it. James had a well trimed mustache and goatee, which along with his brown hair was thick and bushy.

Yet as he quickly found out, no one was around, let alone anyone who could set him apart. From his chest pocket, James lifted out a telescopic sight. It was small and made of a hard plastic, and was completely unique in this world, as in many others. Extending it the small machine automatically went into focus. James swung it around as he held it up to his eye, looking in all directions. Off to the North West was a low set of hills, with what looked like a small town at its foot.

James put his device back and started in that direction.
