Three nation theory

Had a decent sized part of the Indian sub-continent concentrated on the coast converted to Christianity as a result of the British

Would a Three nation theory with a Christian version of Pakistan be likely

Portuguese Empire in India was never even near that big compared to Islamic ones in India! Portuguese forced conversions wouldn't work in a bigger Empire as the native Hindus and Muslims would have rebelled. Of St Thomas was more successful so early, then it would be extremely hard to say what would have happened! Possibilities are endless! Suppose you have such a large Christian empire in India,it would attract Roman and Byzantine Empires which would be received more friendly than was their Ancestors during Alexander's time! Romans and Byzantines were looking at every chance of taking over the East and if they convert to Trinitarian version that early,we could see a more contact with both and eventually adoption of Graeco-Roman culture if that would be possible.
An another possibility is of British Assimilation which they tried for a lot through education and etc. But still, you will have Anglicized India in terms of language and DNA but churches would be diverse. Probably a Sufi form of Christianity will evolve as it happened for Islam in the Indian subcontinent. Probably sects like Quaker, etc would be more prominent.
If these possibilities had taken place, there is no way I can see a majoritarian vie for power and hagemony would happen since all three religions would be equally distributed. Secondly one must look into Geography. Islamic regions are concentrated in the Northwest frontier due to invasions from land. Most Christian contact happened through Sea. So you would see Christianity spread all over if it could reach percentages of 33-35% which Islam was before partition. This would lead to no religion holding majority in India and hence less friction between the three religions. Partition happened because of political differences that Muslim politicians who had been with Hindu ones in the Congress and fought united for Independence had been neglected. All that is butterflied here due to a greater British and Christian footprint and partition and probably decolonisation would not happen very easily.

How might we see this developing? For example, a changed inner and emotional life being viewed as the best evidence for the truth of the Christian gospel?
There are some branches and developments out of Christianity which are mostly pantheistic like Quaker and Episcopalian too as far as I know. Such sects would have developed to be even bigger if British presence was more stronger. As for Islam,it was more rigid and stricter than Christianity and hence Sufi Islam didn't become stronger.

. . . As for Islam,it was more rigid and stricter than Christianity and hence Sufi Islam didn't become stronger.
Okay, I can see that it wasn’t 400 years before Islam became a state religion like Christianity did during the later days of the (western) Roman Empire. And Islam was maybe more often matter-of-factly incorporated within state power, although I suspect that in some periods of Europe during the Middle Ages this was probably equalled by Christianity.

And then, look, a lot of it just comes down to, I was religious when I was 14 and 15 and most people weren’t. I tried to be witness at school, and maybe there was only 20 students in a high school of 500 who I considered to be similarly devoted and evangelical as myself.

Well, heck, I’m a nerd big time in the social studies, history, politics, economics, philosophy, etc. and yes, I tend to get involved in things intensely. Some good aspects to this religious period, but coming down from it was very traumatic. These days I’m a good agnostic.

Many, many people even in religious societies are not themselves that religious. A whole lot of people believe God wants them to be a good person and lead a moral life, but they don’t take it further than that. Even as teenagers, they don’t get carried away like I did.
