Thousand-Week Reich - A 'realistic' Nazi victory scenario

The Germans seem to be obsessing over Hitler and the period from 1933-1945, rather than looking the good aspects of German history and culture like Weiner schnitzel, Oktoberfest, Bach or Frederick the Great.

Considering that this is very much a thing in the real world to the point where certain sections of Germany seem to believe that everthing before 1933 was naught but preparation for the inevitable Nazi takeover, here it would be wound up to eleven, given that they actually won the war.

Thousand Week Reich - My idea of Europe in 2000 [Not Canon]

Hi! After making a dozen TWR maps i decided to make a different one, definitively less pretty. It's my vision of what europe could become in 2000, 40 years after the collapse of the Reich. It is NOT CANON, for comparison you can see Mekul's idea here. ( He is definitively more optimistic) Rest of the scenario -https://www.reddit.com/r/AP246/comments/7ch604/the_thousandweek_reich_a_realistic_nazi_victory/

And its HOI4 mod in development - https://www.reddit.com/r/twrmod/

Thanks @ST15RM for making the base map!
As for netherland i don't know, it does look somewhat normal to me, except that the whole map is a bit flattened, also in TWR netherland got a good part of german frisia.

Crossposting from Map Thread XVIII

During the years of 1941-1960, the Nazis were in the process of exterminating the 140 million inhabitants in the area of the former Soviet Union west of the A-A line. This was due to the ideology of the Nazi Party and subsequently the German State which viewed all Slavs, and a large portion of the Baltic peoples as inferior. While it is commonly known that the process involved a series of famines, village burning, concentration camps and mass executions, Generalplan Ost was not a monolith that was set in stone. During the Nuremberg Conference on the Final Solution to the Eastern Problem, there were competing ideas on how to deal with the 140+ million Untermenschen. One idea suggested by Donitz, recommended a neo-feudal system where the most valuable land would be controlled by Germans and the rest controlled by the Slavs so that they could provide cheap labor for construction, and would be exterminated in the late 70's one the infrastructure for colonization was complete. One plan that stuck out was something that the Allies would claim to be a justification for the German defeat: Option 3 of Generalplan Ost

This plan, concocted by Reinhard Heyrdich was considered one of the more radical of the plans, even disgusting some of the Nazi command, yet oddly enough was favorited by Heinrich Himmler as he was the one who suggested it the most often due to it's 'efficient elimination of the undesirables'. This could've been possibly due to him being preferred as Heydrich was the orchestrator of the Final Solution. The plan, if enacted would be spanned over a 10 year period taking into account the logistics of recruitment for the Einsatzgruppen, the group that would've been responsible for the job (Just to keep track) During that time the plan would follow as goes: The Reichskommizariats, SS states and territories would be reorganized among Einsatzgebeits headed by a central 'capital' designed to coordinate the Einsatzgebeit and the task forces along with any Army personnel in the state, under the control for the Einsatzgruppen. The Einsatzgruppen would be made into it's own special part of the armed forces alongside the Waffen-SS. The main and only goal for this new branch of the army was simple: Exterminate all untermensch of the German State by 1960. The way that would be would involve a murder quota system where each idividual soldier and platoon was to provide a certain number of dead untermsnchen, while the whole mass of the army would work together in waves. There would be 3 waves in total. First the Western Wave would occur exterminating those closest to the Altreich using the concentration camp system already in place and providing a source of slave labor for the economy which was strained at the time

The Second wave would be at the A-A line and would focus more on combating the enemies of the Reich (a euphemism for the untermenschen prioritized for extermination and usage as slave labor). They would also, in junction with the Wehrmacht, eliminate any form of partisanship within the designated Einsatzgebeit. The would use the slave labor to construct fortifications designed to slow any enemy incoming. Estimates suggest that 80% of the population would have been exterminated by the year 1955, right on time with Heydrich who was known for his efficiency. The third wave is where the two waves would meet and would use their combined forces to ensure a fast and speedy extermination of the remaining civilian population within 2 years of meeting. The third wave is where the two waves would meet and would use their combined forces to ensure a fast and speedy extermination of the remaining civilian population within 2 years of meeting using a murder quota system designed by Heydrich in order to ensure colonials would not see the death which could sway opinion of National Socialism

The way they would be exterminated was considered too 'primitive' by some Nazi's but as Heydrich said, 'does it get the job done, if so then why complain'. Once the prisoners/civilians were rounded up, they would be transported to death pits via railway/death march, and be shot/stabbed with all their valuables stripped. To prevent escape, they were surrounded by soldiers to ensure that no one was to escape. After the death pit was filled it would be torched with gasoline and other combustibles designed to ensure maximum efficiency. New death pits were to be constructed every 10 months to ensure the quotas were met. During the Nuremberg Siege of 1960, the Atlantic Union soldiers uncovered this document in one of the archives of a inconspicuous building. When asked by a translator, he spoke that these were euphemisms for extermination, which 'repulsed them' according to a translator for the AU, However it would serve as a reminder for those of the Nazis and their duty 'to liberate Europe from this madness'. During the Nuremberg trials, this was used to display the insanity of the third Reich and was used specifically to sentence Heydrich and most of his associates to execution by firing squad. Today the 'Heydrich Plan' would serve as a reminder of the insanity of the Nazi state and the levels of brutality at which they were going for their Lebensraum, and particularly as an insight to 'The Butcher of the East'

Goddamn. What software did you use to make these wonderful maps.
Inkscape and Paint.net, i usually draw the coastlines/rivers/lakes/borders/topography (and in this case mountains) with inkscape, then export it and fill it to paint.net (because it's easier to fill with it) then send it back to inkscape to put the labels and description then send it back to Paint.net to polish it and add effects.

Hey everyone. Slightly tangential, but as some of you may know there's a mod for Hearts of Iron 4 in development based on this scenario. It's been slow in the past, but now that it's picked up i can present the first 'dev diary'. Not written by me and perhaps a little brief, but it gives a glimpse into what the mod would look like: https://www.reddit.com/r/twrmod/comments/99rgg7/thousand_week_reich_developer_diary_1_the_united/

In addition, keep an eye out - the 1 year anniversary of this scenario is coming out and after a long break I should have something to show.

Policy of Containment
TWR 1 year anniversary special:

This is a special map. On this day, 5 September, last year, I released the very first map in the Thousand Week Reich series. Back then, i did not intend it to become the great series it is now, nor did i envisage it inspiring a HOI4 mod currently in development with a great community of its own. For me personally, the last year has been pretty mixed, with ups and downs and lots of changes, some welcome, some not, but it's nice to see what this project has become. I want to thank those that contributed to the project, such as /u/TheMightyKutKu , /u/aardvark421421 and /u/ThatGuyFawkes11, all the devs, artists and other contributers currently working on the mod, and everyone who followed along the way.

Now the map itself. Fairly self-explanatory, I envisage it as an in-universe map, a kind of informational piece created in the US to serve as both an educational document about the situation in the early 50s, as well as a piece of propaganda. Hope you like it!

Has anyone thought about what happens with Equatorial Africa? They were one of few French Colonies would fought against Vichy France and would make a good location for the French empire in exile.

Great stuff guys, I absolutely love it!

I liked how an earlier world map showed India as balkanized into several states. This seems intuitive to me, as the British would have such a lack of resources and prestige that their withdrawal from the subcontinent would probably be very disorderly, and lead to a breakdown, if not civil war. After all, there were over 300 nominally independent principalities and other entities in addition to the Raj before independence, Mysore being the biggest. Maybe the Nazism would even sponsor extremist Hindus, leading to a pro-Nazi state?

It would also be cool to get an overseas Free French Republic led by De Gaulle, maybe in Algeria?

Can we also get a detailed map of Greater South Africa?

Thanks again, guys.

I realy admire all the work that has been done on this timeline. It really looks so well thought out and consistent with some original takes on the subject.

The latest map feels at some points not right as propaganda/education material for the general public (and it has the appearance to be directed at that audience). It is much to open about covert operations and destabilizing actions, something a government will never admit so openly to commit. F.i. the entry in the Middle East. I would change the first sentence to the more euphemistic: The Middle East is a key battleground in the [our] worldwide struggle.
For the Irish, i would chose sympathizers instead of spies.
The Italian entry i can't read properly myself. I tried other platforms, but that didn't help. But that's my problem. From what i could read i deducted that the atlantic union is trying to play out the growing division between Italy and Germany. Again any such actions would be hush-hush and not be told to the general public until there was a clear result.

Congratulations with the first aniversary, that many more may still come.

Thank you very much, and yes you do raise good points.
