Thoughts on what kind of consequences would ensue...

If the Netherlands became a puppet state of the Third Reich early on in World War II. In my view, the primary implications of a fascist Holland would be in regards to the fate of the Dutch East Indies. If the Indies stayed loyal to the Allies, the impact on the war would likely be minimal. If, however, the Indies were ceded to Japan or managed by the Germans it would likely result in a highly strenghtened Axis position in the Pacific. It seems likely that a German or Japanese offensive from the Pacific (with the Dutch East Indies' resources and manpower in tow) could stand a chance of overwhelming the remainder of the Allied position in Indochina and India.

If one were to reach slightly farther, one could also speculate that the Axis could successfully align with Axis-friendly Persia and Germano-Italian Forces in the Middle East. If done early enough (before the USSR and USA were at war with the Axis) the cruicial oil reserves in the Middle East could easily result in a situation far more favorable to the Axis.

Any thoughts?

Nazi Indonesia

The scenerio you outline would remove the USA from the Equation. The USA would not be able to cut Japan off from oil, therefor the attack on Pearl Harbor would not be needed. We would have a requirement to build up the attacks on USN escorts of Atlantic convoys as an act of war.
If the British try a Zimmerman type telegram I could see a revulsion in the US when the FBI exposes it. Leading to Soviet victory over Germany by 1946, France freed by British supported Freedom fighters still goes communist.
The only country not comunist would be Portigul. Spain would have a second revolution without Fascist support. The communists would gain power in Britian with the royal family invited to vacation in Jamica joining the Duke.

I don't think that the Dutch would be Vichified (if that is a word) to permit the handing over of administration of their CROWN JEWEL colony to the Japanese. That would be akin to the Brits handing over India/Canada.

Neither the US nor the British would allow it-and any attempt for the Japanese to move in could be seen as an act of war. The USA took over Greenland/Iceland when there was a chance for the Germans to take over areas that had little strategic resources but which had strategic positions for global shipping. The US/UK would not allow the Japanese to walk into the NEI.

Also, why would the fascist Dutch want to lose the NEI for the chance to be forevermore a puppet of the Germans/Japanese?

Why not have the Fascist Dutch simply agree to supply Japan? Solves the obvious problems with Dutch Sensibilities and it means that perhaps the Dutch "Sphere of Influence" could lead to a Dutch Singapore and kind of a Partition of the Pacific?

Granted, this is a huge game changer in terms of politics, but if the Dutch go Axis then there is little reason to see why a Dutch-Japanese Alliance wouldn't emerge instead of the Dutch yielding Indonesia.

I like this. It allows the Dutch to go Swiss and if the Allies win they can reclaim thier colony or if Axis wins they were on the winning side from the beginning..:D

Thanks for the help guys! I've been busy with work and missed your responses. Expect to see a scenario/TL soon!
