Let´s get a try. This is our story
Our nation was born when Isabella and Ferdinand were joined in holy matrimony, and then there was war. There were only three crowns and two could be the embryo of Spain. It win the option of Castile and Aragon. Maybe it was not the best option but was the strongest option, god knows. It was this fact which gave us America. God knows that the Portuguese were there in 1473, but made no interesting to those lands. They did not know that stretches from his "Newfoundland" to his"Brazil", did not know that there had empires. Maybe it was not China, but there were empires. If Portugal and Castile were united, Columbus would have ended up in France. Only France hates us enough to tell if his project when Colon was so wrong.
We were both very strong but still were not as strong. The first time that our worst enemy is facing us, succeeded in defeating us. France get Naples. That´s when we knew. We were strong, but not so strong. Needed help to defeat France. We needed Austria, we needed the English, and above all, we needed Portugal (all Spain cry when Miguel died)
The second time we saw the faces, we were able to help Austria to win Milan. It was in 1521, Cortes conquered Mexico, Austria conquered Milan and Naples and we had a rebelion against a foreign king (never appeared in the history books), a king that only used our blood and gold, a king that only used us as barn for an ideal that was never ours. He never underestand that we were the muscle that maintained its empire.
But see now America. The rest of the world knew what we had encountered. Portugal react quickly and claim their share of the pie but the rest acted like dogs. The first sign of our weakness happened in the south. A dog called Cavendish decided in 1527 that the English might be established where we couldn´t. England, who was never really our friend, decided after the great campaign of Pizarro to attack us from a hidden base in Patagonia. Then, we thought that they attacked us from the Terra Australis incognita, a continent found by some castaways of the Loaisa expedition and we send settlers to the new lands. Many lives lost in New Galicia (of course New Zealand), many ships lost in New Guinea and many desertions and betrayals in Austrialia of the Holy Spirit (Australia). Soon succeed in bad lands, few new Christians and poor colonies, but, at least, England were not there
