How would nations not directly efected by a global nuclear war fare in its aftermath? Specifically a "Threads" style nuclear war?

There foreign aid is cut and they suffer a lot. Africa goes down the tubes. States like Brazil and Argentina might be placed as a regional powers-not world powers at least for a half a century. India probably suffers a lot and then rises like a Phoenix, Pakistan plays the dragon that dries to eat the Phoenix and then gets burned. Indonesia either falls into civil war or hard-tail dictatorship.

Summary if First and Second World annilahated then third world suffers A LOT however states with enough people cohesive institutions and cultures will be placed to take the world's reigns within the century after Armageddon.

Not so, a great deal of Africa's suffering comes from First World economic infrastructure. It is not dependent on foreign aid, and most of those aids end up in the pockets of Government Employees or in Refugee camps.

Certainly, there'll be a collapse of some nations propped up by the First World, but all in all Africa will be just fine after a drop in technological level all around.

I think the most untouched region, Equatorial Africa, would be mixed. There's a real lack of Africa WWIII TLs and that's sad. Likely some regions go into chaos but others are kept under tight belts. East Africa is interesting becuase if it's at the right time you have 10,000s of WarPac and communist troops with no country to go home to. Do they go back up to the homelands or stay? I think that some countries eg Ethiopia will have their problems get worse but others would survive but with much less tech.
