These Fair Shores: The Commonwealth of New England

There’s quite a few of those by the looks of it, actially.
I like those names. The Federation Government or the Gilded Government, the Golden Government sound nice.

Can I ask what the title First Minister of the Estate means? Is this an old timey name for the head of government or is it an actual, separate department that is headed by the FME?

I wanna know what happened during the "Where? How?" Government. How did it get such an amazing name.

Also Kennedy only served 2 years. Poor guy has no luck.

By the different colours I assume the original Liberal party was dissolved and a new one was later refounded.

The article on the Hartford Courant says that Conservatives governed between 2003 and 2007 in a coalition with Liberals while the Prime Ministers list says they governed alone? Is it a retcon?

Is the list of British monarchs different from OTL?

How is Venice ITTL with global warming at a more advanced stage?

@CosmicAsh already explained it.
It was a name that stuck around due to jeers from the opposition. Government ministers would often skip debates and leave the House in the dark until the day of the vote, which it could then be rammed through. This led to the opposition, and newspapers, dubbing it "Where? How?" to mean "Where are the ministers, how does this government function?"

Peacetime desensitisation. Or, me putting my meagre problems above those with actual problems.
Seen a lot in pro-Russian countries such as Bangladesh during a certain recent event.

I asked about this earlier on the server. It's a light retcon, I think? She said she's gonna tweak the article a bit in a little so keep your eyes pealed I suppose.

Without further ado, and with permission from Ashley, the TFS Q-BAM! Massive thanks once more to Spamavalanche and Gust of the TFS server for helping make (most of) this!

Hi! I’ve been lurking this thread for a while, but I’ve never posted, so apologies if this is disjointed or anything. I had a question, if that’s alright. I noticed that you updated the 2020 U.S. election wikibox a while back, and I saw that since the parties and politics were revamped, the election graphic was changed, but I couldn’t get a good look at it. Could we see the electoral map at full-resolution if you have one?

Is Texas malapportioned or are our cities that much smaller? I guess NOLA and Mississippi City could have hoovered up a lot of the growth that came here IOTL, but it still surprises me that Metro Houston has, at most, the same population as Grand Rapids, Michigan. (I would put that down to climate change, but, well, NOLA.) If anything, I would have assumed that Texas, with our long OTL history of using undemocratic means at home to rules-lawyer our way into national power, would be overrepresented, but maybe the oil companies got too big for their britches or something.

I very much appreciate the varied electoral systems - it's a nice touch to have different states handle things differently, both as a 'tribute' to federalism and a sneaky way of ratfucking the opposition (I assume the reason the states around Hamilton are all bloc-vote-based is that they were assumed to be rock-solid establishment pluralities?). Are the states in gray PR users, or do they use something like limited voting?

This continues to be an interesting timeline with some very impressive worldbuilding. Recent updates seem to be turning the United States into more of a riff on state socialism, which is quite amusing to me. Still, with all this talk of giving workers control over the means of production, how much of that was ever actually true? And are there any currents within or outside of the DSU trying to make that happen?
