"There is no god but Allah and Hud is his Prophet" -- or what if "Islam" emerged 1000 years earlier?

Wouldn't that alone have huge knock-on effects on history?
No, because the Greek invasion is still coming on schedule--the Persians were never successful anyway and Athens just lost the Peloponnesian War by 400BC, so there is no Greek power that can invade Persia until Philip of Macedon and we all know what happens next.

Wouldn't this be like what if Christianity emerged 1000, 500 years etc. earlier? It wouldn't have been Christianity at that point likewise this hypothetical religion wouldn't be Islam.

The Jews were already released from the Babylonian Captivity by 400 BC, so Arabic monotheism would have little effect on Judaism. Soon enough, Judaism will be subjugated by the Greeks and so Jewish and Christian history would unfold pretty much the same way.

I was thinking the PoD was around 600 BC, but eh.

Also, four hundred years is still enough to change the history of the Jews, let alone butterflying Christianity. Like, Alexander could end up establishing a dynasty of five hundred years, leading to the eventual subsuming of Judaism into Greek culture. Or Persia could overthrow Alexander immediately and subjugate Greece for a third and permanent time, keeping Judaism under a relatively benevolent and thus quiescent rule. Neither of which are conducive to the Messiah being born into a world of bloody oppression and occupation by Romans.

Speaking of the Romans, they were already established as a regional power in Italy, but they could also be butterflied away, whether they are sacked even harder by Celts, crushed by their neighbors, crushed underfoot by a more innovative Pyrrhus, or even burnt out by the Carthaginians.

No, because the Greek invasion is still coming on schedule--the Persians were never successful anyway and Athens just lost the Peloponnesian War by 400BC, so there is no Greek power that can invade Persia until Philip of Macedon and we all know what happens next.

*Xshayarsha is offended by your insolent insinuations of the inevitability of their fall at the hands of Iskandar*
