WI the Hashemite Prince Feisal died between July and December 1920? Of a nasty infection, violence, a road accident, I'm not overly focused on which.

The British need to look to someone else to be King of Iraq the next year. His brother Abdullah would have been a logical candidate and his name had been discussed before when his brother Feisal was to be named King of Syria. There was another Hashemite brother, Ali, who inherited the Hijaz. (Others who nominated themselves included Ibn Saud and a local Shia strongman)

So, assuming it is Abdullah of Iraq, who lived to 1951, what do we do to Iraqi history?

And what about the Emirate created for him, Transjordan? Does that remain part of the British Palestine Mandate? Do the French press for border revisions in favor of their Syrian protectorate? Or, is it simply created a few years later, in 1925 or 1926, to warehouse brother Ali after the Hashemite defeat in Arabia? Ali died in 1935, and had one son, who would have been 22. Even this change, same family, different members, will make for changes in Transjordan.
