Theodore Roosevelt killed on Cuba?

What if Roosevelt had been killed on Cuba in 1898. Which implications would this have had on American Politics??

America's bad-ass factor would've dropped by at least 18.4%.

Edit: Goddammit. I had gone halfway through a somewhat detailed response, and then my lecture ended and my draft was gone when I got back to my dorm. What my response boiled down to was: Roosevelt himself being gone wouldn't have made a huge difference; he was a great president, but many of his policies were just progressive actions that would've happened sooner or later anyway. The more important question is what his replacement would've done.

It might butterfly away FDR. His name was a great asset to him.

Who would re-place Teddy? Maybe Mark Hanna?Charles Fairbanks?

Wasn't Roosevelt the main force behind the Progressive Republicans? And without the Bull Moosers dividing the Republic voting bloc in 1912, maybe Wilson might not have won the presidency. From there, we might see an earlier American entry into the First World War, since Wilson was one of the few politicians who significantly backed neutrality.

Communist America

Seriously, no TR could lead to Progressives being unsuccessful. This has huge butterflies. And TR's the one who made America into a great power. That'll happen more gradually.
