The Wrong Brother: A Tale of David Miliband

‘Bill Clinton had sister Souljah in 1992, Obama had Jeremiah Wright and Blair had Clause IV. For David Miliband his shot at glory required plunging the dagger in the back of the very leader who had raised him up so far. Supporters praised him for finally coming into his own, critics saw it as a cynical attempt to revive his stale campaign. However, all can agree it was a piece of political showmanship that allowed him to throw off the chains of Blairism, and show the country that he was his own man…’ Andrew Rawnsley, The Miliband Brothers

What's this timeline about?
It's a look at the much fabled 'prince across the sea' David Miliband, who many see as the 'right brother' who should have won the leadership in 2010 and in turn steer the party towards victory. This timeline will show, just how this leadership could of turned out.

How long will it last?
Without wanting to reveal anymore about the story it will chart Labour's 2010 leadership election, the coalition governments ups and downs, along with the inevitable general election. As it's my first timeline I can't guarantee anything, but I've got a number of things planned

Is this just Blairite Revionism?
On the contary, this timeline will show the challenges that faced the labour party, and how any leader would struggle in the post-expenses scandal era. It will obviously cover the key differences between Ed and David.

What's your writing style going to be like?
Quite frankly all over the place, I'm hoping to cover a lot of territory so I'll use more intimate scenes where needed, but on the whole it will try to cover a fair bit. Be warned this is my first attempt at a timeline.
